Heathkit Oscilloscope O-12

*WARNING*
THERE ARE HIGH VOLTAGES PRESENT IN THESE DEVICES THAT CAN KILL YOU
USE CAUTION!

I recently picked this up on a road side sale for $10. I have recapped it and seems to be functioning fine. I'll be adding info to the page as time progresses. Here's the project.

  2. Thank you! I'll be adding more soon I hope.

There is some nice key info available in the manual on the initial setup which I will also be posting about. Unfortunately, all the Heathkit manuals are copyrighted..., so I'll have to do something different on the page to address it.

  3. Awesome! I have exactly that same scope and your page is the only one with the circuit!! Off to fix it!!

I'd love to get the manual of the oscilloscope, now that the company doesnt exist anymore would you like to put them online? (or send them to me :) )

  4. In the circuit diagram, the high voltage leads say 0.625V but after the V9 the voltage is -1348 Volts.. that is quite odd..

My scope was modded and the valves next to the transformer have been substituted by some diodes (I believe) and I don't get those 430V needed to feed the rest of the circuit, i get a bit more. Also in the red leads my transformer gets me 485V and not 390V as the schematic says.. Any idea on how to get 430V? :)

  5. Hi, thank you for the comments. Personally I would ask the folks over at diyaudio the technical questions. I performed a re-cap here but my knowledge is pretty limited compared to what you should get there.
